چکیده
Although single nucleotide polymorphisms rs429358 and rs7412 in the apolipoprotein E gene (APOE) are widely investigated to analyze APOE alleles, there no data on their association with Alzheimer?s disease (AD) dementia a Serbian population. This study aimed investigate distribution of ?2/?3/?4 alleles patients due AD cognitively unimpaired subjects assess ?4 allele risk A case-control included individuals. were analyzed using Real-Time PCR method allelespecific TaqMan assays, followed by carrier status analysis. Patients had significantly higher frequency than control group (P<0.001). The was found be associated 3-fold compared reference ?3 In conclusion, this is first suggest that carriers have developing those who carry

Depression was associated with apolipoprotein E ε4 allele polymorphism: A meta-analysis
Objective(s): Previous studies have reached different conclusions regarding an association between apolipoprotein E (APOE) polymorphisms and depression. This meta-analysis was designed to clarify these controversies. Materials and Methods: Literatures were identified reviewing the national and international databases. The eligible articles for meta-analysis were determined by quality assessment...
متن کاملApolipoprotein E ε4 magnifies lifestyle risks for dementia: a population-based study
The risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease (AD) probably results from an interaction between genetic and environmental factors. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects and putative interactions between the apoE 4 allele and lifestyle related risk factors for dementia and AD. Participants of the Cardiovascular Risk Factors, Aging, and Dementia (CAIDE) study were derived from rando...
متن کاملA FDG-PET Study of Metabolic Networks in Apolipoprotein E ε4 Allele Carriers.
Recently, some studies have applied the graph theory in brain network analysis in Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). However, relatively little research has specifically explored the properties of the metabolic network in apolipoprotein E (APOE) ε4 allele carriers. In our study, all the subjects, including ADs, MCIs and NCs (normal controls) were divided into 165 APOE...
متن کاملSex differences in the association of the apolipoprotein E epsilon 4 allele with incidence of dementia, cognitive impairment, and decline.
We examined longitudinal associations between the apolipoprotein E ε4 allele (ApoE4(+) status) and several cognitive outcomes and tested effect modification by sex. Data on 644 non-Hispanic Caucasian adults, from the Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging (BLSA) were used. Dementia onset, cognitive impairment and decline were assessed longitudinally. After 27.5 years median follow-up, 113 partic...
متن کاملApolipoprotein E ε4 allele modulates the immediate impact of acute exercise on prefrontal function.
The difference between Apolipoprotein E ε4 carriers and non-carriers in response to single exercise sessions was tested. Stroop and Posner tasks were administered to young untrained women immediately after walking sessions or moderately heavy exercise. Exercise had a significantly more profound impact on the Stroop effect than on the Posner effect, suggesting selective involvement of prefrontal...
